Sustainability at Biozin

Norwegian forests – Great opportunity

To categorize a development as sustainable, it must satisfy the current needs without compromising future generations’ ability to fulfill the same needs. In Biozin, we will manufacture fuel from sustainable and renewable woody biomass.

The annual forest harvest volume in Norwegian forests is roughly 12 million m3. This represents only about half of the yearly re-growth! Generally, we experience landscape overgrowth. The re-growth consists of both leaf trees and conifers – both of which are suitable as raw materials for the production of Biozin products.

In addition, waste elements (slash = tops and branches) from current harvest operations are usually left in the forest to rot. Part of this volume is required to ensure proper biodiversity in the forest. However, a substantial share of the slash can be utilized for other purposes when transported out of the forest.
